Lawrence Roeck is an accomplished director of feature films and documentaries. Most recently he directed the international art forgery movie Carmel-by-the-Sea starring Lauren Bacall, Alfred Molina, Hayden Panettiere and Josh Hutcherson. He also filmed Clint Eastwood for the Morgan Freeman narrated documentary produced by Warner Brothers, The Eastwood Factor. Lawrence started his career in 1992 by filming and directing 5 internationally recognized snowboard movies under the company name RPG Films. He retired from snowboarding in 1998 and in 1999 he joined the Pebble Beach Golf Resorts to direct the video for the 2000 US Open of Golf for Pebble Beach President, Paul Spengler. Featuring Arnold Palmer, the video was used as the opening presentation for what at that time was the largest tournament in the history of the sport. Shortly after his success at Pebble Beach Lawrence joined The Ackerly Corporation as a news video journalist and director of his own feature news stories for their network of CBS and FOX tv stations. Lawrence left the news in 2003 to pursue his own projects. He joined acclaimed music video directors Brendan and Emmett Malloy to film the 2006 hit song of the summer by Dave Matthews and Jurassic 5, "Work it Out". He also started to collaborate with Dina Eastwood, wife of Clint Eastwood, on her own personal projects and Eastwood family projects. While working for the Eastwoods Lawrence filmed and produced a half hour family history documentary on Clint Eastwood's mother, Ruth Woods. After 7 years of independent producing and directing Lawrence made the push into feature films when he created, co-wrote, produced and directed the movie Carmel (now titled Carmel-by-the-Sea). Set in his own hometown of Carmel in Northern California, this world famous backdrop serves as the setting for a complex and dark drama about International Art Forgery that stars some of the finest actors of our day. Working with well known casting director Mary Jo Slater, Lawrence cast Lauren Bacall, Hayden Panettiere, Alfred Molina and Josh Hutcherson in this modern day classic story about Carmel's fading bohemian art culture. Set for release in early 2011, Carmel-by-the-Sea is one of the few movies to actually depict how expensive paintings are forged and sold in the international marketplace. Lawrence Roeck is producing and directing his second feature film The Crags (thecragsmovie.com). Starring Dina Eastwood and Scott Eastwood, the Crags is an action adventure movie about a man that inherits the world's largest fortune only to disappear without a trace. Filming is set to begin in 2012
Lawrence directed a TV show pilot backed named "Lucky Punks" with Dina Eastwood and the vocal group Overtone while they were living at Clint Eastwood's residence in Los Angeles performing for the soundtrack of the movie Invictus.
